    We have a 2018 Ford Expedition Limited 4WD that we have owned for about six weeks now. (It was a dealer demo w/5000 miles when we bought it.) We have made one long trip with it (about 800 miles with five adults and a dog - no complaints). We are very happy with it so far. I traded in my 10-year old GMC SUV and wanted a large 3-row SUV that can tow. My wife approves of the passenger seat (very important). As the driver, I really liked the adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and rain sensing wipers. The passengers took full advantage of the wifi hotspot. It has plenty of power and the 10-speed transmission is smooth as butter. I do not mind the engine stop/start feature (and it can be turned off). This is a truck based SUV so it does handle like a truck. That is what I wanted but it may not suit everyone. Our gas mileage on the trip was just a bit better than the EPA estimates.
  • A few big disappointing aspects

    This is my second ford expedition. My first was a 2012 which I drove for 6 years and did 200,000 miles. It was a beast and I loved it, the build quality I found to be superb with the exception of the rear tailgate which rusted. However my Ford dealership repaired it and I was very happy so I felt going to the next version of the Expedition was a wise choice. Fortunately I've leased the vehicle and don't have to put up with it for much longer. I'm 2 years into a 3-year lease. And have done 35,000 mi. What I find most annoying are the following... firstly the sunroof rattles, constantly... it was in the shop for 2 weeks and they stripped out all the lining and rebuilt it only for it to still rattle. I can't be bothered to return it for another repair.. if it was my car and I owned it I probably would, but it's very disappointing. Next the gear shifting is clunky and sometimes very chunked. The automatic transmission is neither smooth nor enjoyable I have complained about this and so far Ford has not developed a solution. There are numerous rattles inside the cabin which annoy me and the fan noise is very loud. When the air conditioning is on auto the fan is annoyingly loud, even on the lowest and quietest setting.. Overall this has been a big disappointment. I have one year left on the lease and I can't wait to get rid of the vehicle.

    I am a mother and I needed to get rid of my 14 year old Chevrolet Suburban. The new Suburban felt clunky and low quality. I love my new Expedition. The third row is big enough for my 18 year old son. And I live for the 375 horsepower. Also the SYNC is easy to use and has (my favorite) Apple CarPlay! I think it is a mother’s dream car! 5/5
